Post-Ian Florida attraction update 9/29/2022

Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, Sarasota – closed until further notice

Naples Zoo, Naples – all animals reported safe and secure. Zoo suffered some flooding due to storm surge.

Seaside Seabird Sanctuary, Indian Shores – all birds successfully transported off property prior to landfall.

Big Cat Rescue, Tampa – three members of staff, including two Operations Managers, are stuck in Missouri where they went for a conference. Facility is currently short handed.

CROW, Sanibel – All staff on site safe. Causeway to island, only road access, has been damaged by storm. Staff is developing alternative plans for wildlife care.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Clearwater – all staff and animals are safe. Will reopen Friday Sept 30.

Zoo Tampa, Tampa – all animals are safe and property cleanup is underway. Member night for Creatures of the Night event on Friday 9/30 has been cancelled. Zoo will remain closed until further notice.

Busch Gardens, Tampa – all animals and onsite staff reported staff. Park expects to reopen on Saturday, Oct 1. Howl-o-Scream tickets for Sept 30 have been extended through Oct 31.

Tampa International Airport – will resume operations 10 am on Friday Sept 30.

Gatorland, Orlando – closed until further notice

Central Florida Zoo, Stanford – rideout team and animals safe. Continued site evaluation will continue on Friday.

Wild Florida, Kenansville – park will remain closed on Friday Sept 30, opening date to be announced. Park’s airboats have been used by local law enforcement to rescue stranded residents.

Walt Disney World Resort, Lake Buena Vista – theme parks and Disney Springs will begin phased reopening on Friday Sept 30.

SeaWorld Orlando, Orlando – all animals and staff reported safe. Cleanup will continue on Friday Sept 30, with reopening anticipated for Saturday Oct 1.

Discovery Cove, Orlando – all animals and staff reported safe. Reopening anticipated for Saturday Oct 1.

ICON Park, Orlando – select restaurants remain open to serve locals who have lost power. Full venue reopening anticipated for Friday Sept 30 or Saturday Oct 1.

Fun Spot, Orlando and Kissimmee – park operations resuming Friday Sept 30

LEGOLAND Resort Florida, Winter Haven – LEGOLAND Florida park, LEGOLAND Waterpark and Peppa Pig Park will remain closed on Friday Sept 30 for continued assessment and cleanup.

Universal Orlando Resort, Orlando – assessment and cleanup continues, with phased reopening of portions of property, limited to existing hotel guests, to take place on Friday Sept 30.

Brevard Zoo, Melbourne – Zoo reopening on Friday Sept 30. Some areas may be off limits to guests due to flooding or cleanup.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Merritt Island – attractions and bus tours will resume on Saturday Oct 1. All reservations for closed dates due to storm will be refunded.

Marineland Dolphin Adventure , St. Augustine – staff and animals reported safe. Park will remain closed through Friday Sept 30 to evaluate hurricane impact on facility.
