That weird SeaWorld – LEGOLAND thing is happening again

Back in 2011, LEGOLAND Windsor opened a ride called “Atlantis Submarine Voyage.” Submarines took families through a giant aquarium tank while onboard monitors shared information about the fish they were encountering.

The attraction proved to be so popular that it was built at other LEGOLAND parks around the world, including LEGOLAND California, a short drive up Interstate 5 from SeaWorld San Diego.

The LEGOLAND California version opened in 2018. Do you know what else opened in San Diego County only one year earlier, oddly timed to beat the LEGOLAND opening? That weird outdoor/indoor hybrid interactive submarine dark ride for families at SeaWorld San Diego.

One of these San Diego County submarine rides is still open. The other closed after only a year. I’ll let you guess which.

So back to LEGOLAND, this time to LEGOLAND Billund, the original LEGOLAND park in Denmark. In 2012, the park opened a family roller coaster that ends at an exhibit with live penguins.

And now, I’d like to interject with some good news. SeaWorld Orlando has finally torn down its weird washing machine ride.

And they’re replacing it with….

….wait for it….

….a family roller coaster that ends at an exhibit with live penguins!
